About Affiliate Payouts Guide

Why we exist

Affiliate Payouts Guide started because we were tired of vague answers. When we ran affiliate sites and partner programs, the questions that mattered most were rarely covered in depth: When does the commission actually clear? What happens to reversals? How do networks handle cross-border payouts? The information existed, but it was scattered across forums, buried in terms of service, or locked behind account managers who had their own targets.

We built this site to document what we learned the hard way—through spreadsheets, support tickets, and months of waiting for payments that should have arrived sooner.

Who we are

Our team has worked on both sides of the table: as affiliates promoting offers, and as program managers setting commission structures and chasing down payout issues. That means we don't just repeat what networks say; we test it. We've tracked payment timelines, compared fee structures, and logged the real-world friction that comes with getting paid.

We're not a network. We don't sell software. We're an independent editorial team, and our only product is clear, tested information.

How we work

Every guide starts with a simple question: what would we want to know if we were getting started today? We interview affiliates, program managers, and finance teams. We read the contracts—all of them. When we can't verify a claim, we say so. When a network changes its terms, we update our coverage.

We don't accept payment for coverage. Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up for a service. That never influences our recommendations; we disclose it clearly, and we only link to tools we've used ourselves.

What we cover

  • Commission structures: How different models (CPA, revenue share, hybrid) affect what you actually take home.
  • Payment mechanics: Thresholds, schedules, currencies, and the fees that eat into payouts.
  • Dispute resolution: What to do when a commission is reversed or a payment is late, and how to escalate effectively.
  • Tax and compliance: The paperwork affiliates and programs need to get right, from W-9s to VAT.

We focus on the US market, but we cover international payout issues when they affect US-based affiliates.

Our values

  • Accuracy over speed: We'd rather publish a day late than get a number wrong.
  • Transparency: We show our work—screenshots, dates, and sources—so you can judge for yourself.
  • Practicality: Every article ends with something you can do, not just something you know.

Meet the team

The site is run by a small group of editors and researchers who have spent years in affiliate marketing and partner programs. We've managed campaigns, negotiated contracts, and waited on hold with support desks. We bring that experience to every piece we publish.

We're always looking to learn from others in the field. If you have a payout story or a correction, contact us.

Why trust us

We're not the biggest site in the space, and we're not trying to be. We're trying to be the one you check before you sign a contract or chase a missing payment. Our content is updated regularly, and we stand behind it. If you spot an error, tell us—we'll fix it and credit you.

Affiliate marketing is complicated enough. Getting paid shouldn't be a mystery. We're here to make it clearer.
